National President’s Message

Dear Quality Professionals,

Our Global Quality Convention held on 10th & 11th August 2018 at Chennai Trade Center was a grand success. Inauguration of the Convention by the Honorable Minister Thiru Ma Foi Pandiarajan, Awards function chaired by Shri Santhanam of Saint Gobain and support from various media, gave NIQR a widespread visibility.

With the theme “Digital Quality for Disruptive Future”, we intended to benefit our delegates by getting a feel of the transformation which is picking momentum and will soon affect all of us whether a student, an entrepreneur or a professional.

We had carefully planned Six Sessions touching upon various transformations viz :

  1. Transforming Indian Business – Challenges & Opportunities
  2. Panel Discussion – Digital Quality
  3. Future of Mobility
  4. Smart Manufacturing
  5. Disruptive Transformation – MSME's Perspective
  6. Transforming World

In the session on “Future of Mobility” the audience was able to get sensitized that with rapidly evolving technologies and models, there is a need to adopt new and fundamentally different pathways to provide

    • clean, cost-effective, and efficient mobility services that are safe,
    • reduce dependence on oil imports, and
    • achieve more efficient land use with least environmental footprints and impact on human health.

All the 6 sessions were enriched with enormous information. The experts & thought leaders spoke with passion to update all of us with the transformation happening across the industry and service sector. Quality in Health care was also one of the new focus areas which is also being added to the gamut of NIQR activities.

The exhibition was a new feature of our convention this year. This provided an excellent Gemba opportunity to the delegates to get a hands-on feel of whatever the speakers told them.

We at NIQR strongly believe that it is very important to learn from the winners. As such we have instituted awards in 7 categories, to be presented during the convention. The awards not only motivate the achievers but also provoke others to compete and win next time.

I am confident that team NIQR is steadily moving in the right direction to support the “Make in India” mission.

With best wishes!

P. K. Aggarwal
