INDUSTRY – 4.0 Awareness Program: No. 49 at Ashok Leyland Limited, Ennore
The 49th program in the series was conducted at Ashok Leyland Limited, Ennore on 3rd March 2020. Mr. N. Sundaram, AGM- Mission Gemba organised the program.
There were 65 Managers of all levels from all departments of Ennore.
Mr. N. Sundaram welcomed the gathering and HR Manager introduced the faculty, Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Secretary, NIQR who retired as AGM – TQM in 2007.
In the first module, the faculty opened with the challenges and opportunities faced by INDIA and Indian Industries today; the participants showed great interest in the details.
In the second module, the concept of Industry 4.0 or Smart Manufacturing was briefed and the need for skilling in the tools of industry 4.0 was explained with lot of videos with the thrust on use of AI, IOT, Cloud, Data Analytics and 3D printing in today’s manufacturing and other sectors.
In the third module, the faculty explained how the TQM tools will be affected in the new era and the importance of staying abreast with them; the interaction was very high.

Mr. N Sundaram and Mr. Parthiban took great interest in taking the faculty on a tour of manufacturing facilities and the vast gardens created in the last four years with great zeal.
