Six Sigma Green Belt Workshop
NIQR Head Quarters organised a Six Sigma Green Belt Workshop exclusively for Vendors of Ashok Leyland Limited in Hosur, as part of its Quality Month initiatives. This was part of vendor development program of Ashok Leyland Limited.
The 4-day workshop was handled by Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao, Past National President NIQR, Dr. V. Swaminathan, National Vice President NIQR and Mr. R. Mohanakrishnan, National Council Member NIQR. It was conducted at Management Development Centre, Ashok Leyland, Hosur on 28th Nov’16 & 2nd Dec’16 to 4th Dec’16.
There were 27 participants from 21 vendors and one from Ashok Leyland. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Hariharan, DGM Material Sourcing, Ashok Leyland. Dr. V. Swaminathan briefed about NIQR and introduced the faculty members to the participants. Dr. A. Sanjeeva Rao explained about the workshop design and explained about the certification criteria.
Every day there was a test on the portions covered in the previous day for forty minutes. Participants’ performance was continuously monitored. The program was filled with lot of examples and hands-on exercises and the participants were able to get basic clarity on the subject. Minitab session was organized on the third day to enable participants to get more clarity and to ease their calculations and conclusions. One case study was presented from an industry on productivity improvement and the interactions helped the participants confident of taking up projects.
The participants will be awarded Green belt on successful completion of a project.
