INDUSTRY – 4.0 Awareness Program: No. 40
The 40th Program in the series was conducted at Karunya University, Coimbatore on 28th February 2018. The University had requested for this program as part of the National Science Day Celebration on 28th Feb. There were 1500 students from all disciples.
Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar, Vice-Chancellor presided over the function and inaugurated the National Science Day Celebrations. In his presidential speech, he thanked NIQR for providing a lecture on the most important topic of the decade, Industry 4.0 for the students. Dr. Madhu, Asst. Prof. Mech. introduced the speaker Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar and briefed the students about the recent advancements in technology and asked them to make use of the lecture.
The speaker explained the four industrial revolutions and the use of AI, IOT, Cloud, Data Analytics and 3D printing in today’s manufacturing sector. He also showed their applications in all walks of life though many videos and emphasised that today’s engineers should skill themselves in the above for a bright career. The students maintained good discipline throughout the lecture and many interacted to know more about the technologies.
